Putin discusses with the Russian National Security Council "Russian-American" relations



Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed with the permanent members of the Russian National Security Council, on Friday, the "Russian-American" relations, and press spokesman for the Russian Presidency (Kremlin) Dmitry Peskov said that the Russian President held an executive meeting today in the Kremlin with the permanent members of the Security Council Russian National.


Peskov added that the issues of organized crime were the main topic, and of course the current issues on the international agenda, including of course Russian-American relations, were also addressed, indicating that the rest of the internal meetings and meetings with the head of state are not public, stressing that measures are being taken. Currently necessary, through diplomatic channels, based on the proposal of Russian President Vladimir Putin to speak in direct contact with his US counterpart, Joe Biden, stressing that the Russian President’s proposal was about a dialogue with the US President and not a debate because there can be no debate between heads of state.


Peskov said in a press statement today, Friday: "Measures are being taken through diplomatic channels based on the proposal of the Russian President for dialogue with his American counterpart," noting that the previous and first contact between the two countries ’presidents was initiated by the US side.



He added, "In light of this initiative by President Putin, the Russian side is now presenting the initiative itself, transmitting this initiative through diplomatic channels, and awaiting a response," stressing that the offer of direct communication with the American president was about conducting a dialogue between the two leaders and not a debate.



In this regard, he said, "Of course, there can be no debate between the two presidents, meaning that it is merely a proposal for communication and continuation of dialogue between the two heads of state." He continued: "Moscow does not yet know about Washington's reaction to the proposal of Russian President Vladimir Putin to hold a dialogue on the air between the leaders of the two countries."



Peskov said: "There are still no details, and we do not know the Americans’ decision, and we can talk about some specific formulas for the two presidents ’contact after receiving a reaction from the American side."
