Today, Wednesday, the Algerian Ministry of Defense announced that it had thwarted illegal immigration attempts and rescued 197 people who were on boats in several states, in addition to arresting 155 immigrants of several nationalities in 5 states.
A statement by the Algerian Ministry of Defense stated that the Coast Guard managed to thwart illegal immigration attempts and rescued 197 people who were on board boats in the states of Chlef, Tipasa (north), Oran, Ain Temouchent, Mostaganem and Tlemcen (northwest).
The statement added that 155 illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested, including 10 Moroccans in Burj Baji Mukhtar, Adrar, In Amenas (south), Tlemcen (northwest) and al-Bayadh (center).
The statement added that the army forces, in coordination with the various security services, stopped 33 drug dealers and seized large quantities of drugs, estimated at 16 quintals and 74.5 kilograms.
