The French Ministry of Health data showed that the number of Corona virus patients in intensive care units today, Saturday, reached its highest level this year, as the government faces calls to impose strict general isolation to curb a third wave of infections.
The data showed that 4,791 patients were being treated for Covid-19 in intensive care units, up from 4,766 on Friday.
The data indicated that another 194 deaths related to the virus were recorded in hospitals during the past twenty-four hours.
French President Emmanuel Macron last week defended his decision not to impose a third general lockdown but said more restrictions may be needed.
