Fox News said that the US opposition group, which was the first to reveal Iran's nuclear weapons ambitions in 2002, announced this week that it had discovered new evidence of a nuclear site that had not been announced before.
At a press conference last Tuesday, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) provided more information about the site located in Iran's worship area. The council claimed that the site was cleared in 2019 and was supervised by the recently assassinated chief nuclear scientist, Mohsen Fakhryzadeh, and IAEA inspectors were not allowed to enter the site until late August.
The International Atomic Energy Agency confirmed last month that inspectors had reported that the regime in Tehran had begun producing uranium, in the latest violation of the Iranian nuclear agreement. The uranium was said to have been found at two sites in Iran.
Ali Safavi, an official with the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, told Fox News that what has been revealed shows that deceit, denial and duplication are part of the regime's DNA. He added that Europe and the United States should not trust this system as a credible and honest interlocutor that fulfills its promises. Among the findings, the Iranian Resistance Council said that the site was built by companies controlled by the Revolutionary Guards, and was part of a project called Marivan, which includes a group called Metvaz that was involved in researching and manufacturing high-explosive nuclear devices.
In addition, the Iranian Resistance Council indicated that Saeed Burji, a senior specialist in explosives, worked with Fakhry Zada, the former supervisor of the nuclear program. She said Burji continues to conduct research on the nuclear program.
